New status indicator for custom avatars in gSignature
November 14, 2024
Custom avatar status indicator
We have introduced a new status indicator for the “Use custom avatar” option. Now, when an administrator uploads a custom avatar in the employees tab or an employee directly in gSignature, the switch will remain active.
What does this indicator mean?
The indicator tells you that the custom avatar is now being used in your email signature, rather than your profile picture from Google Workspace. This status will remain active until you manually sync with Google (“Sync with Google”).
Syncing avatars with Google Workspace
In order to replace a custom avatar with a profile photo from Google Workspace during synchronization, it is also necessary to enable the “Overwrite data with Google sync” advanced setting.
Why is this update important?
- Transparency: The status indicator provides you with a clear indication of what image is currently being used in your employees' email signatures.
- Control: You can better control the appearance of email signatures and avoid accidental situations where a Google Workspace profile picture appears instead of a custom avatar.
- Efficiency: You can easily see which employees are using custom avatars and avoid unnecessary synchronizations.
How it works?
- An administrator in the employees tab or an employee in gSignature uploads a custom avatar.
- The “Use custom avatar” toggle remains active and the status indicator indicates that the custom avatar is being used.
- You can manually force a sync with Google (“Sync with Google”) to replace the custom avatar with a profile picture from Google Workspace (required to enable the “Overwrite data with Google sync” setting).
The new custom avatar status indicator is another feature that makes it easier for you to manage your email signatures in gSignature. It will give you more control over the appearance of signatures and avoid confusion.
